Abstract

One of the obstacles faced by students in memorizing the Quran is their lack of fluency in reading and memorizing the Quran. However, by using the bandongan and sorogan methods, proper memorization and recitation of the Quran can be achieved. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the bandongan and sorogan methods at the Tarbiyatul Wildan Islamic Boarding School in Karawang. Although Sorogan and Bandongan can be considered traditional or classical learning systems, this study was qualitative, using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data collection began with obtaining various data sources from several informants and direct observations recorded in the field, interview transcripts, and documentation. The Quran is one of the most important factors in children's understanding of the messages and values of the Quran. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the bandongan and sorogan methods at the Tarbiyatul Wildan Islamic Boarding School in Karawang was successful and achieved the expected targets, due to several considerations. First, the planning of the bandongan and sorogan methods is carried out in a measured manner in implementing them in learning the Qur'an which is designed according to the needs of students. Second, the implementation of the bandongan and sorogan methods is very effective in implementing them and can improve the memorization of the students. Third, evaluation in learning the Qur'an is carried out every semester in carrying out the learning program. Fourth, supporting and inhibiting factors have a positive impact.
